If you are tired of crowded, commercial sites, this is the perfect tour for you! This combination tour includes a trip to the UNDEVELOPED  Jinxi Water Town and back to Shanghai for popular sites. Jinxi is unique in its serene authenticity and lack of crowds.It also features 13 folk museums from tiles to antiques.

What You Can Expect

As this is a private tour, you can choose your desired starting point and time: for most, this will be the lobby of your downtown Shanghai hotel at 8:30am.

• Relax on the 90-minute drive to the ancient undeveloped water village of Jinxi as you leave the metropolis and transition from urban to rural China. Along the way, your guide shares the history and culture of Jinxi, Shanghai and China.
• Once you arrive in Jinxi, you'll experience an undeveloped Water Town which will take you centuries back in time. It has a beautiful and serene feel with its many bridges, canals and ancient roads. You'll also cruise the canals in a gondola to see the local traditional homes close up from the water.
• As you walk along the narrow lanes with cobbled streets, you'll visit traditional shops, sample unique local food and have the opportunity to select from the 13 unique folk museums nestled among the historic buildings.
• You'll then have lunch based on your interests with guidance from your expert tour guide. You can choose scenery by the water or other site of your choice.
• After lunch, you'll travel back to Shanghai to see the sites.
• The first stop is the famous YuYuan Garden to see beautiful gardens, sculptures and traditional architecture.
• From here you'll visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the symbol of Shanghai. Especially the 360 degrees of transparent glass skywalk that will make you go "wow!" And then make a short stop at the Shanghai History Museum, located in the zero meter hall of Pearl TV Tower, is waiting to tell you more about Shanghai's past, current, and future. 

You'll be back at your hotel (or your chosen downtown Shanghai destination) after the tour.
