Tour Overview
This combination tour includes a trip to the ancient Xitang Water Town and back to Shanghai for popular sites. The picturesque Xitang has amazing waterways, bridges and unique ancient homes. It features unique sheltered corridors to walk along the canals.

From here it's back to Shanghai to explore popular sites such as Pearl TV Tower with its unique History Museum,  Yuyuan Garden and more. A perfect day. Already been to one of these? Let us know and we'll change for other sites to create the perfect day tailored to you!

Please note that YuYuan Garden is now closed on Mondays. If your tour is Monday, instead of visiting YuYuan Garden, we'll include another historic site. You can choose from the Daoist City God Temple or Jade Buddha Temple, or you can choose to use your extra time to visit another site after discussing with our guide. What You Can Expect

As this is a private tour, you can choose your desired starting point and time: for most, this will be the lobby of your downtown Shanghai hotel at 8:30am.

• Relax on the 90-minute drive to the ancient water village of Xitang as you leave the metropolis and transition from urban to rural China as your guide shares the history and culture of Xitang, Shanghai and China.
• Once you arrive in Xitang, you'll see centuries of history, Xitang is famous for its covered corridors where you can walk directly along the canals (being careful not to fall in!). A gondola ride is a must try.
• As you walk along the narrow lanes with cobbled streets, you'll visit traditional buildings, old shops, see old homes, cross over the famous Wufu bridge, and sample unique local food. You must try the smelly tofu and famous chicken feet.
• You'll then have lunch based on your interests with guidance from your expert tour guide. You can choose scenery by the water or other site of your choice.
• After lunch, you'll travel back to Shanghai to see the sites.
• The first stop is the famous YuYuan Garden to see beautiful gardens, sculptures and traditional architecture.
• From here you'll visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the symbol of Shanghai. Especially the 360 degrees of transparent glass skywalk that will make you go "wow!" And then make a short stop at the Shanghai History Museum, located in the zero meter hall of Pearl TV Tower, is waiting to tell you more about Shanghai's past, current, and future. 

You'll be back at your hotel (or your chosen downtown Shanghai destination) by 5:30pm, or nine hours after you began.

The perfect end to a great tour to see the spectacular views of Shanghai's skyline from both the East and West sides.
